Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s):
I will be your child’s Math teacher this year. I am very excited about having your child in my class. In order to guarantee your child, as well as the other children the excellent climate they deserve, I have come up with a syllabus and a discipline plan to help facilitate such a climate. Please read over the syllabus and the following rules with your child. We have discussed both in class but I would also like to make you aware ahead of time of how the class will run.
When in my classroom, students must comply with the following rule(s):
Don’t do anything detrimental to yourself or the class environment
1. Strive for excellence
2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
3. Treat other people with respect.
4. Follow all school rules
5. Come to class prepared and on time.
6. Don’t stand in the doorway.
These rules will be strictly enforced. If a student is severely disruptive, he or she will be sent immediately to the dean. The tardy policy can be found in the school planner and the absent policy is on the syllabus. If you are not here you will not pass my class. In order for you to monitor your child’s academic progress and attendance we will be using the ESIS parent assistant program. You must contact the guidance office to obtain the login information. Grades in this class are calculated by total points. Grades will be updated as often as possible. Please be patient. Finally, if you or your child feel at any time that extra help is needed please don’t hesitate to make arrangements for your child to come in the mornings. Extra points are given for doing
extra work, including getting help. Please email me if there is anything I may help you with. Thank you so much for your support and cooperation. I am looking forward to a great year.
